JERRY CLARK, Ph.D., OWNER
FBI Special Agent (retired)

Jerry Clark purchased Fisher Security in the winter of 2019. Clark brings an impressive résumé with him to Fisher Security as he retired as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2011, after the conclusion of the Pizza Bomber case and after 27 years in law enforcement, including careers as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. He holds a B.A. in Psychology, a M.A. in Forensic Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Public Safety with a specialization in Criminal Justice. Clark is currently an associate professor and chair of the Criminal Justice program at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Clark has extensive experience in public-safety leadership, complex investigations, special weapons and tactics,  threat and risk evaluation, law enforcement intelligence and interviewing techniques. His doctoral dissertation, “Competence to Stand Trial: An Analysis of Intellectual Functioning and Psychiatric Diagnosis,” grew out of his interactions with one of the defendants convicted in the Pizza Bomber case, Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong, who has history of mental illness. He lives with his wife and two children in Erie.

He is also the author of three books: Pizza Bomber: The Untold Story of America’s Most Shocking Bank Robbery, A History of Heists: Bank Robbery in America, and Mania and Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong: Inside the Mind of a Female Serial Killer. A site devoted to the books can be found here.

G. MICHAEL McDAVID, MANAGER

Dr. G. Michael McDavid graduated from Eastern Kentucky University starting a 20-year career in the United States Army.  He retired in 1992 as an Infantry Lieutenant Colonel.  His Penn State career started in Continuing and Distance Education at Penn State Erie for 5 years, followed by his appointment as Northeast Regional Director in 1997 with Penn State Cooperative Extension and Outreach.  For over 20 years he provided leadership for cooperative extension and outreach programs for 18 Northeast Pennsylvania counties.  Dr. McDavid earned a management degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and his Doctor of Education Degree in leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  His areas of expertise include management, leadership and corporate training.

ROBERT A. NELSON, CONSULTANT

Robert A. Nelson, former owner, has been retained with Fisher Security as a consultant.  Bob Nelson has been with Fisher Security since 1974.  He was the General Manager for 33 years, and President and owner for 11 years.  Over the past 44 years, he was able the build the business into a viable security company providing security services to many Erie area businesses and institutions. He attended the University of Maryland and Penn State Behrend.   His background and experience comes from his time in the military, working in the Military Intelligence field with various agencies.
